*** READ IT HERE 1st *** ... i had to upload the video elsewhere, because DA simply dont allow non-flash videos .. and well, the swf had 500mb for 10-11min video .. so yeh.
anyway, this on the link is just 30mb, most people dl that in like 5 minutes. I'll see if i can get a smaller size in here.
Just a quick video showing how i work on details and my screen setup.
As you can see .. there's really no secret nor "pattern" to add detail .. i just decide how i want it to look like, and do it.
While i dont use flat textures on top of the painting, I start with those brushes with a little more texture/details on it, and use them to generate random strokes, and go from there. It's much easier to simply look at a random display and draw lines (when doing a irregular surface) than trying to create them from scratch.
As you can see, the initial brush strokes already set a base for the more accurate detailing afterwards. I take their random patterns and work further on them .. changing as i feel like it.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
This is 1/2 of the resolution, normal speed .. and if you dont like the music, simply mute it .. it was simply what was playing on itunes at that time
the reason why i lowered the resolution to 1/2 was that the video had around 40mb .
