"...if you find yourself, walking alone in a green field ..
.... with the sun shinning upon your shoulders ..
... do not worry .. cause you will be in Elisio ..
.... and ALREADY DEAD.. "
This line explain just what i tried to show in this painting ... its a Greek hoplite (some references i took from the Spartans) ..who is kinda .. dead .... this is why the colors, clouds, and field itself are somehow .. unnatural ..
well .. i .. finally ... finished .. it ... after like an year that i've posted the first sketch .. i can say that i learned a lot in this time .. except for the clouds, those are my first ones hehehehehhe ..
hope you like it .. done in painter 9 the major painting .. and in PS 8 the fog effects and the clouds .. the original size is 4000x5800 ..
the one little thing I would pick on is the darkness around his chest doesn't seem to tally with the light that's apparent in the rest of the image. Really like the way the grass he's standing in is done.
Utterly awesome.
My personal title for this would be, "Welcome to Elysium".
The darkness on the helm gives him the 'faceless soldier' sort of quality, which is something I enjoy.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
